Is your acne flaring up? Can’t figure out why?
A couple of things may be at play. First, stress. Stress increases hormone production, and with that, more oil production. And for those prone to acne, this means more breakouts!
Another factor is that your daily routine may be off, and maybe you aren’t following your home care quite as well as you should. You might be touching your face a lot more while sitting around working from home or doing online school. Maybe you are eating a lot more sugar or refined food.
Those are some very simplified reasons for more breakouts. Everyone is different and we each have our own special skin needs. If you want some help over the phone or FaceTime, call me! If you haven’t used skin care products that are professional and tailored for you, you will be amazed at the difference in your skin and acne when you use the correct products.
A couple of very simple things to do at home now
- Ice your inflamed acne twice a day with ice cubes for 1–2 minutes.
- Drink more water, and eat your water in vegetables!
- Sleep on clean pillowcases, and wash your face before you go to bed!
- Stop scrubbing your face. Scrubbing is really only okay for non-inflamed skin and does not need to be done every day. Say no to electronic scrub brushes. Use them on your feet.
